Dr. Subir Choudhury
CEO & Managing Director
Dr. Subir Choudhury is a distinguished chemical engineer holding a Ph.D. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. With over two decades of leadership experience in higher education, technology-driven institutional development, and industry-focused innovation, Dr. Choudhury has played a pivotal role in shaping organisations that bridge advanced engineering with impactful real-world applications.
As the Director of Focus Research & Development Pvt. Ltd., incubated at the Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park (STEP), IIT Kharagpur, Dr. Choudhury leads cutting-edge technological initiatives spanning chip cooling strategies, microfluidics, waste-management technologies, dust-suppression systems, and solar-based engineering solutions. Under his leadership, Focus R&D—working collaboratively with eminent IIT Kharagpur faculty—co-developed a breakthrough ultra-low-cost diagnostic device that performs multiple blood tests from a single finger-prick, leveraging microscale fluid mechanics and cellular biophysics. This innovation has the potential to revolutionise affordable diagnostics for millions across India.
Beyond technology development, Dr. Choudhury has an exceptional track record in establishing and modernising educational and research institutions. As Managing Director of Educare Services Pvt. Ltd., he has spearheaded the creation and growth of multiple K–12 and higher education institutions, including the Scholar Mission School in Kanpur and the transformational redevelopment of the 200-year-old St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling (“Eton of the East”). He is also the Founder-Director of two leading engineering colleges in Kolkata — B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology (BPPIMT) and St. Thomas’ College of Engineering & Technology (STCET)—both accredited by NBA and affiliated to MAKAUT.
His global vision is reflected through Educare International Foundation FZ-LLC, established in Dubai Knowledge Park, where he is leading the creation of a research-driven modern university focused on emerging technologies and future-ready disciplines.
